Kettler 9454-100
The Velcro straps that attach the footrest to the pedals and frame were installed improperly at the factory, making it impossible to secure the footrest tightly to the bike. This could be the reason why other reviewers had serious safety issues with the footrest, which caused the pedals to lock and the bike to stop short. It took me a while to figure this out, and I had to remove the straps and reverse them, which was actually pretty simple once I realized what the problem was.
